Good Questions

Chimney & Fireplace FAQs

How often should I have my chimney swept in Utah?
At least once a year — ideally in early fall before burn season. Piñon, juniper and softwoods produce creosote quickly, and Utah’s long inversion season means your flue works harder than in milder climates. Heavy users burning four-plus cords a winter should sweep twice.
Do gas fireplaces really need an annual inspection?
Yes. Gas burns clean, but burners collect dust and pet hair, vents can block, and valves, seals and glass gaskets age. An annual check keeps the unit drafting safely and catches small issues before they become a no-heat emergency in January.
What does a 360 chimney inspection include?
Firebox, damper, smoke chamber, flue liner, crown, cap and flashing — plus the roofline and attic where the chimney passes through. Everything is documented in a written report with photos, so you know exactly what’s sound and what needs attention.
Why is smoke coming back into my living room?
The usual Utah culprits: canyon-wind downdrafts, a cold flue, negative house pressure from tight new windows, or a blockage like a nest or creosote shelf. A professional inspection pinpoints the cause — the fix might be as simple as the right cap.

Word of Mouth

What Utah Homeowners Say

Five star review
“They sealed off the whole living room before sweeping and left it cleaner than they found it. The photo report showed creosote I had no idea was building up. Booking every fall from now on.”

Megan R. · Sandy · Chimney Sweep

Five star review
“Our cabin flue was drafting smoke inside every time the wind came down the canyon. 360 fitted a new cap and the problem vanished the same day. Straight shooters, fair price.”

Tom B. · Heber City · Chimney Cap

Five star review
“They turned our dated 90s brass fireplace into a stacked-stone centerpiece. Crew showed up on time every day and the finish work is genuinely beautiful.”
