Dryer Vent Cleaning for Daniel, Utah Homes
Two features of houses up here work against a dryer: the laundry is a long way from any exterior wall, and the vent often exits somewhere you cannot see from the ground.
Distance is the first problem
A large floor plan puts the laundry room somewhere convenient to the bedrooms rather than somewhere convenient to a wall. The duct then has to travel, and every foot of travel and every bend costs airflow. Manufacturers publish a maximum equivalent length for a reason, and each ninety-degree elbow counts as several extra feet against that budget.
Once air is moving slowly it stops carrying lint and starts depositing it, usually at the first bend. The deposit narrows the duct, which slows the air further, which deposits more. That is why the decline is not gradual: a run that was acceptable for years reaches a threshold and then gets noticeably worse in one season.
Roof terminations you never look at

Is a booster fan a good idea for a very long run?
Only where the manufacturer of the dryer and the fan both support it, and only when the duct is otherwise correct. A booster fan on a dirty or badly routed duct hides the problem rather than fixing it, and it becomes another thing collecting lint.
